Fethiye
Fethiye is a beautiful coastal destination in Turkey. For those who want to escape the busy urban Turkish cities, this is a prime destination.
Our 2 favorites, are a cruise on a Gullet boat and exploring the ancient tombs in the mountain.

There are many options to book a gullet cruise. Get the best deal by booking with the people on the docks. Make sure you have Turkish lira. It was an amazing experience you get to stop for several swim stops and to explore the islands. It cost us about the equivalent of $25 each for a day cruise including lunch.

The other favorite was the Aminthas Rock Tombs. For a fraction of a dollar, you get to see impressive carving rock facades that you can liken to the one in Petra, Jordan. We even had a friendly kitty and dog greet us on our visit.
Pamukkale
Most visit the Travertines on a short tour excursion but it is worth the additional hours spent here. Yeah, it is a tourist hot spot worth seeing, just bypass some of the busy times and you will get more from your experience.
Tips:
✅️Spend at least 3-5 hours here. With the Travertines and Hierapolis, you can easily spend the full day.
✅️We recommend starting early from the bottom and working your way up. Less crowding in the lower pools. Also if you arrive the night before you can take cool shots of the lower parts at sunset and it's free.
✅️Wear light clothes if visiting in warmer months and comfy slip-on shoes. Shoes are not allowed in pools but you'll need them for exploring Hierapolis. Lots of walking up top but they do have some stopping points.
✅️Brings light snacks and water although there is a large food area by Cleopatra's pools.
✅️We loved the simple quaint hotel we stayed at. They had a pool filled with Thermal water to soak in. Much easier than crowding in with the people soup at Cleopatra's pools.
